Look What The Lord Has Done!
EVERY person in this room has a reason to sing these songs! You might not be standing on the other side of the battle yet, but if God has kept you, carried you, forgiven you, or brought you this far, then you already have something to shout about!
In Mark 5:19, after Jesus delivered the man who'd been living among the tombs, He told him, "Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee." He didn't tell him to hide where he'd been. He told him to tell somebody what the Lord had done! Because God doesn't only bring us out for us. He wants to send us back into the lives of the lost, the hurting, and the bound so we can tell them, "I know what it feels like to be there...but I also know the One who can bring you out!"
YOUR testimony might be the very thing that gives someone else the courage to believe that freedom is for them too!! The enemy wants u to remember our past with shame, but God wants us to remember it with gratitude. Shame says, "Hide where you came from." But testimony stands up and says, "Yes, that's where I was, but look what the Lord has done!"
Maybe you're sitting here thinking, "But I don't feel like He has done anything for me." That's how insecurity sneaks in. It convinces you that your testimony doesn't count because you're still fighting some battles or it isn't as dramatic as somebody else's. The battle you're in today does NOT erase the victories God gave you yesterday!
Sometimes the testimony is that what tried to destroy you didn't! You're still here! You still walked through those doors today, even while carrying things that nobody else knows about!
DON'T OVERLOOK THE KEEPING WHILE YOU'RE WAITING FOR THE BREAKTHROUGH!
Psalm 107:2 says, "Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, who He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy." So whether He brought you out of the fire or He's keeping you while you walk through it, you have a reason to praise Him! Think about where you could've been. Think about what should've taken you out. Think about the mercy that carried you when you couldn't carry yourself.
So when we sing these songs, don't just sing like you're reading words from a screen. Sing them like evidence....EVEN IF you haven't seen the answer yet, sing them in faith! Praise isn't pretending the battle is over. It's declaring that God is still faithful while you're standing in the middle of it.
Sing so the person next to you who is still hurting can hear what hope and faith sound like!
LOOK WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE!
Sing so the person next to you who is still hurting can hear what hope and faith sound like!
LOOK WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE!
