Still Reigning, Still Victorious
In Romans chapter 8, before Paul ever says that we're more than conquerors, he reminds us of some things that're already settled.
He says, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Reminding us that no opposition is greater than the God who is for us.
Then he asks, “Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect?” and “Who is he that condemneth?” In other words, who has the authority to condemn what God has already justified?
He also asks, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Shall tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword? He isn’t talking about pretend trouble. He’s naming real things, real battles, real opposition. He's naming the kind of things that we actually walk through.
But then in verse 37, he declares.... “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
Not AROUND these things.
Not AFTER these things.
But IN ALL these things.
That means even when the mountain is standing.....Jesus is still reigning.
Even when the battle is sloud, Jesus has not lost authority.
There is no one higher than Him!
No throne above His throne!
No name above His name!
There is no power that outranks His power!
We aren't worshipping today from a place of defeat.
We are worshipping through the victory that Jesus has already won.
And we are worshipping the One who reigns above it all.
