Let That Be The Accusation

I'm in the book of Daniel this morning and am reminded that a lot of times, when people cannot find corruption in your character, they start looking for a way to weaponize your consecration. They go after the very thing that makes you faithful. 

Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God. - Daniel 6:5 

His enemies knew that his covenant with God was NOT negotiable and that is exactly what they tried to attack. 

You see, when the enemy cannot destroy your credibility through sin, sometimes he tries to make your obedience look extreme. 

It is one thing to suffer because you have done wrong, but it's another thing to be targeted because you refuse to stop doing right. 

But here's the thing to keep in mind.... what they didn't understand was that the very thing they used against Daniel was the very thing that would carry him through. They thought his devotion would be his downfall. 

But his devotion was his covering. 

I pray this encourages you to stay faithful, even when your faithfulness is misunderstood.

KEEP praying.

KEEP obeying.

KEEP showing up with clean hands and a steady heart.

KEEP doing right, even when doing right seems to make you a target.

Because Daniel’s enemies thought they had found the one thing that could bring him down, but really, they had found the one thing that made him unshakable.....his covenant with God.

Sometimes, the thing people try to use against you is the very thing God uses to keep you.

And sometimes, the place they expect to break you becomes the place God proves He has been with you all along.

Daniel still went into the lions’ den.

God didn't stop every part of the attack.

But He DID shut the mouths of the lions.

And I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but your obedience isn't wasted, your prayers aren't pointless. 

Your consecration isn't weakness and your refusal to bow isnt rebellion.

It's covenant!

And covenant still carries people through dark places!

So if they can only accuse you because you belong to God, pray to God, obey God, and refuse to compromise what He's made clear…

Then let THAT be the accusation.

Let it be said that you were faithful!

Let it be said that you kept praying!

Let it be said that your covenant with God was not up for negotiation!

Because, you know what?  The same God who was with Daniel in the den is STILL able to be with you in yours.

And He still knows just how to bring His people out with a testimony!
