More Than Replacement

Just something short and sweet today. I haven’t had much desire to sit down in front of my laptop lately because it’s my migraine season, and I’m trying to cut out some of the most common triggers that make them worse. It’s been a struggle because the headache just lingers in the back of my head like a pesky, constant irritation, always reminding me it’s there. I have to be intentional about how I move and what I do… and honestly, I’m SO over it.

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”

Have you ever heard that verse before? It’s from the book of Joel (2:25).

It doesn’t mean those years didn’t matter or that the pain you went through was imaginary.

It means that God is so sovereign and so merciful that He can bring such healing, fruit, growth, and redemption that even what looked permanently lost is not beyond His reach.

I think a lot of the time, we think restoration means getting back exactly what we had before. But many times with God, restoration is deeper than replacement.

He doesn’t just give back.
He redeems.
He rebuilds with purpose.
He brings us into a testimony we did not have before.

Praying for you today… for renewed praise, renewed confidence in God, and renewed awareness that He is as close as the mention of His name.

**I do encourage you to read the rest of this chapter… more specifically, verses 21–32. You will see that this promise goes so much deeper than getting something back. It reveals the heart of a God who restores, fills, and saves.**
