Heaven’s Strategy
The moment you commit to prayer, something distracts you.
The moment you choose discipline and obedience, pressure increases.
And it's not always dramatic, is it? Sometimes it feels like fatigue, delay, confusion or even heaviness. But resistance almost ALWAYS shows up when you are moving in the right direction.
If the enemy can’t stop you, he will definitely try to wear you down, won't he?
But you need to remember something....
Resistance from the enemy is NOT a signal to retreat. It’s actually a signal to respond differently.
When the armies came against Judah, the king didn’t send the strongest warriors first. He sent the praisers. Praise went out before the breakthrough ever showed up.
In the book of Acts, Paul and Silas weren’t praising after they were set free. They were praising while their backs were bleeding and their feet were in chains.
And in Psalm 34, David said “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Not just when it’s easy and comfortable but ALL times.
Praise isn't denial that you're going through some stuff. Praise is positioning.
Resistance says, “This is too heavy.”
Praise says, “God, You are still greater than this heaviness!”
Resistance says, “Be quiet.”
Worship says, “I will open my mouth anyway.”
I think some of us have been trying to outwork the resistance. Like...if we just try harder, pray longer, think it through enough… it’ll finally break. And instead, we sometimes just get worn down.
But heaven’s strategy has always been praise!
Maybe the resistance you’ve been feeling isn’t proof that you’re failing.
Maybe it’s proof that you’re advancing.
And maybe the pressure increased because your praise is about to break something.
So tonight, we aren't worshiping because everything feels perfect.
We are worshiping because resistance does NOT get the final word.
Let’s lift up a worship that says God is still on the throne.
Let’s respond to resistance the way heaven taught us to.
