Repurposing

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.                    - Isaiah 43:18-19  Whew!  It's been a journey!  While I am glad to be this far into it, I am saddened that not everything that the Lord has done was documented.  HOWEVER, I will share as He brings it to my remembrance.    I will be using this to post my studies that I share twice a month in church and also to share my personal studies as they arise and the Lord leads me to share them.   The grief and healing journey I have been on since my son passed from suicide is more of an in-person ministry right now as it is a raw and sensitive situation.  I am very protective over my son and his sisters and have an obligation to protect their privacy. Hello February

January is exciting. It’s full of vision, goals, fresh starts, and sincere intention.
We run into the new year ready, hopeful, and motivated.

Then....in walks February.

February is where we face the cold reality that motivation alone won’t carry us. The feelings aren’t as strong and the newness has worn off.

What we thought we could run on emotionally…well....now it requires discipline.

Galatians 6:9 says "Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

February is when obedience replaces excitement.
Consistency matters more than inspiration and faith isn’t sustained by how strong we start......but by how faithfully we continue.

Discipline isn’t about being hard on ourselves.  It's about choosing faithfulness even when our emotions, seasons, and circumstances fluctuate.

And discipline is worship too!

Showing up when it’s quiet is worship.
Choosing obedience when it’s inconvenient is worship.
Trusting God when the results aren’t immediate is worship.

January says, “I want to” but February asks, “Will you?”

As we continue to praise, let this worship come from a deeper place - not rooted in emotion and not dependent on motivation…
But rooted in discipline and trust.
