This morning was one of those "lead me in your Word today, Lord. I want to be where you want me to be." Sometimes, I get so used to just working through a book in the Bible that I forget to ask Him where He wants me and what He wants to say to me or show me.
As I prayed this morning, I felt a simple "Psalm 68". I couldn't wait to sit down and dig in to see what He wants my mind stayed on today.
I’m not kidding when I say I sat with that chapter for TWO AND A HALF HOURS just letting it wash over me. Every verse spoke something, but nine of them settled deep, like God tucked them right into my heart for this season.
So over the next nine days (give or take), I want to share those with you.
God didn't hesitate here, did He? Very first words to enter my spirit this morning...
There’s something about this verse that just stirs me. It doesn’t whisper… it declares.
Let God arise.
David isn't even asking! It’s a call to movement! Almost like he's saying, “Okay Lord, it’s time. Step in.”
Because sometimes life gets loud, doesn't it? People get messy, the world gets heavy, and everything in us starts to feel small and outnumbered.
But here is this verse, thundering through all of the noise.....
Let God arise.
Not me or my logic. Not even my plans or my frantic trying-to-fix-it energy. Just Him.
I can hear David saying, “I’m done wrestling with what I can’t control. God, stand up. Take Your rightful place.”
And boy, when He does....the enemies scatter. And it has nothing to do with our strategy or track record.....but has everything to do with HIS very presence.
But this verse is a reminder that they don’t stand a chance when God rises!
And sometimes He rises through us.....
through the prayer we whispered in a dark room,
through forgiveness when every part of us wants revenge,
through quiet obedience when no one else sees the cost.
THAT'S how His enemies scatter!
Not just the ones we can name, but the ones we can’t.
(Have you noticed the hyperlinks in my posts? It's a new beta feature that Google has implemented to draw traffic to pages. It's interesting what it decides to "highlight", isn't it? So, if you're wondering why some are highlighted and some aren't, it's not me doing it, it's Google. :) )
