Have you ever had someone hate you for no good reason?
Not because of anything you did.....but because of what someone else said you did?
And most of what they believe? It’s speculation, twisted facts, half-truths wrapped in emotion.
But for some people, that’s enough to pick a side.....even if the story isn’t theirs, even if the facts don’t add up.
Thou shalt not raise a false report:
put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. Exodus 23:1
That warning is pretty clear, isn't it? But still, some people are so quick to carry the story, to repost the drama, and to sit in rooms where your name gets dragged and nod along.
They think they’re loyal.
But......they’re actually lost because following gossip is like following a blind guide.
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind.
And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. - Matthew 15:14
And the one who started it all (the one who spun the lies) they’re not just messy.
They’re dangerous!
They stirred the pot, not to fix anything, but to create conflict and control the narrative.
And let me be real, this isn’t theory, this is my lived experience. I've seen what gossip does, I've watched it unfold right in front of me. I've seen the lies from others (meant to harm ME) affect my children in ways that would tear your heart out.
It didn’t just hurt them, it stole from them. It stole peace, stability, trust. Things they should’ve NEVER had to question.
Members of my own family have tried to control every opinion about me.....not by telling the truth, but by poisoning minds.
They’ve polluted relationships with lies. They’ve used their influence to shape how others see me before I even speak.
They’ve built stories that serve their version of control...and turned people into pawns to carry it out.
A froward man soweth strife:
That’s not healing.
That’s harm!
And when you look closely, you realize.....they didn’t want peace. They wanted attention.
They needed an enemy, and they made you one. They wanted to control the narrative. And they wanted to control who you have in your life.
But what happens when the truth finally speaks? When the smoke clears and people start asking questions?
Because lies ALWAYS come with an expiration date. And when they expire, so does the respect for anyone who believed them without thinking.
If you’re the one being lied on.....stay solid.
And if you’re the one listening to the gossip...be careful.
Because the next false story?
It might just have your name on it.
