Repurposing

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.                    - Isaiah 43:18-19  Whew!  It's been a journey!  While I am glad to be this far into it, I am saddened that not everything that the Lord has done was documented.  HOWEVER, I will share as He brings it to my remembrance.    I will be using this to post my studies that I share twice a month in church and also to share my personal studies as they arise and the Lord leads me to share them.   The grief and healing journey I have been on since my son passed from suicide is more of an in-person ministry right now as it is a raw and sensitive situation.  I am very protective over my son and his sisters and have an obligation to protect their privacy. Proverbs 28 - Walking Wisely

The wicked flee when no man pursueth:
but the righteous are bold as a lion. (v1)

Sin makes people paranoid....always running, always looking over their shoulder, even when no one is chasing. But righteousness brings boldness, not arrogance....confidence rooted in God. When your conscience is clear and your heart is aligned with Him, you don’t have to live in fear. You can stand like a lion!

Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness,
than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich. (v6)

This is one of those verses that flips the world’s values upside down, right?!  We’re taught that wealth equals success. But God says integrity is worth more than riches. Poverty with honesty is far greater than riches gained through corruption. Character outlasts possessions!

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper:
but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. (v13)

Unpopular truth....hiding sin only keeps us stuck. It festers in the dark. But confession brings it into the light and opens the door for God’s mercy. The enemy whispers “hide it,” but God says, “bring it to Me, and I’ll heal it.” Mercy flows where there’s repentance.

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool:
but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. (v26)

This is so opposite of what the world shouts at us....“follow your heart, trust yourself.” But Scripture says our hearts can deceive us. Wisdom comes from walking with God, not relying on our own feelings. Trusting Him delivers us from paths we can’t see clearly on our own.

This chapter is a reminder that boldness comes from righteousness, that integrity is worth more than riches, that mercy waits on the other side of confession, and that true wisdom is found in trusting God, not our own hearts. It’s a call to live with courage, humility, and dependence on Him.
