Repurposing

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?  I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.                    - Isaiah 43:18-19  Whew!  It's been a journey!  While I am glad to be this far into it, I am saddened that not everything that the Lord has done was documented.  HOWEVER, I will share as He brings it to my remembrance.    I will be using this to post my studies that I share twice a month in church and also to share my personal studies as they arise and the Lord leads me to share them.   The grief and healing journey I have been on since my son passed from suicide is more of an in-person ministry right now as it is a raw and sensitive situation.  I am very protective over my son and his sisters and have an obligation to protect their privacy. I may ...

Your Offense Is Blocking the Altar

What would cause some people to not clap, not stand, not “amen” the preacher, and not step to the altar in their own home church?  In another church, suddenly they’re the loudest voice in the room, the first at the altar, the one with their hands lifted the highest?

What is that all about????

Sometimes, yes, it’s insecurity. At home, everyone knows their story. They worry what others will think if they move, if they cry, if they kneel. So they hold back. That’s hesitation, and it can be healed through encouragement, discipleship, and learning to care more about God’s opinion than people’s.

But other times.......it’s not hesitation at all.

It’s defiance. It’s bitterness. It’s a spirit of rebellion that has taken root in the heart. And that silence is no longer shyness....it’s a weapon. It becomes a quiet protest against leadership, against correction, against accountability. And THAT, my friend, is a dangerous place to be.

The Bible says in 1 Samuel 15:23 that For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry...."

That’s how serious it is when someone withholds worship, not because of fear, but because of pride!

This is exactly how the spirit of Jezebel operates.
It resists authority, it manipulates atmospheres,
and it withholds agreement in order to weaken the house of God.

A Jezebel spirit will sit in the pew, arms folded, lips sealed, withholding their “amen” and withholding their worship as if to say, You will not have my support.”

The spirit of discord does the same. It sows division through silence. It doesn’t even have to speak a word...because the refusal to participate becomes its own statement. “I won’t clap. I won’t stand. I won’t go to the altar. I’ll show my disapproval by withholding.”

And yet, these same people will walk into another church.....where there is no accountability, no history, no correction.....and suddenly they’re free. They’re loud. They’re responsive. They’ll fall on their face at the altar, shout an “amen,” and put on a display of spirituality.

But here’s the truth:
if your worship is chained at home,
it’s counterfeit anywhere else!

Because worship is not about the place, the preacher, or the people around you....it’s about the Lord

If you can worship Him in another church but not in your own, then it isn’t God you’re worshiping....it’s your own pride!

C'mon now, SOMEONE has to CALL IT OUT, right?!

Jesus said in Matthew 13:57: A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Familiarity blinds us.
Offense hardens us.
Rebellion silences us.

The enemy knows that if he can keep you quiet in the very house God planted you, he can keep you from the breakthrough that is meant to flow from obedience right where you are!

So here’s the call.... if fear is holding you back, push and break out of it.
If rebellion has rooted itself in your heart, repent.
If bitterness has hardened you, release it.

Don’t let pride chain your hands when they should be lifted!
Don’t let offense lock your voice when it should be shouting praises!
Don’t let silence be your protest when God is calling for your worship!

Because here’s the truth.....when the people of God engage together, when every voice is lifted, when every heart is surrendered, when every “amen” resounds in unity.....chains break, strongholds crumble, and the glory of God fills the house!

Choose freedom over fear!
Choose humility over pride!
Choose worship over rebellion!

And watch what God will do when silence is broken and true surrender rises up in His house!
