What If You Just Let Go?

There’s something beautiful about surrender.....something powerful, even though it often looks like weakness to the world. But, in the Kingdom of God, surrender isn’t about giving up… it’s about giving over. It’s not losing the battle....it’s handing it to the only One who can truly win it.

So many of us have fought hard to make things work, haven’t we? We’ve wrestled in our minds, clenched our jaws, and held on tight while we tried to figure it all out on our own.

We’ve prayed, yes, but sometimes we’ve prayed with one hand still on the wheel. We said, “Lord, have Your way,” but secretly hoped He’d just bless our way.  I got you there, didn't I?  Don't feel bad, because we have ALL done it.

Something shifts when we truly surrender.

The ppsalmist reminds us, Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass (Psalm 37:5). Surrender is when we stop resisting God and start trusting Him....FULLY. It’s when we loosen our grip, unclench our fists, and say, “Jesus, I lay it all down. My plans. My timing. My comfort. My fears. My control.”

And here’s the wild part: when we finally surrender, things fall into place. Not always in the way we imagined, but in the way that brings peace.

DIVINE order begins to replace chaos.
Clarity rises where confusion once reigned.
Doors open that no man could force.
And battles are fought on our behalf while we rest in His presence......because surrender invites the supernatural.

Jesus Himself showed us the ultimate example of surrender in the garden, saying, Not my will, but thine, be done (Luke 22:42).

He doesn’t push His will into our lives with force. He waits for our yes. And when we give it....FULLY...not conditionally, His will begins to move swiftly. Strongholds break, delays lift, and purposes accelerate.

Not because we worked harder, but because we finally got out of the way.

James encourages us in James 4:7, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Rebellion, even subtle rebellion, makes everything harder. It’s like rowing upstream. But surrender is stepping into the current of God’s will and letting Him carry us farther than we ever could on our own.

It’s not always easy. More often than not, surrender often costs us something.....our pride, our plans, our timelines. But the reward is far greater! We get HIM! We get His peace, His power, His provision, and His presence. And in His presence, there’s fullness of joy!

So, what do you need to surrender today?

How about that relationship you keep trying to control?
That door you’ve been trying to kick down?
That timeline that’s got you anxious and striving?
Or maybe even the fear of what’s to come?

Lay it down, friend. Take a deep breath. Open your hands.

Let Him write the story.
Let Him lead the way.
Let Him be God.

Because when Jesus is in full control, you’ll begin to see miracles unfold that your striving could NEVER have produced. Your job isn’t to force the outcome.....it’s to stay surrendered in the process.

And the beautiful thing? His way is always better. Always!
