Don't Miss the Miracle
I want you to know that I never take this moment lightly. Each time I get up here, I pray that it’s not just words you hear, but something your heart can receive, something God can breathe on and use to transform you from the inside out.
With that said, I want to remind you of a story that we are all familiar with. In the Gospel of John, chapter 6, immediately after Jesus had performed the miracle of feeding over five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish, we see the crowd following Him. They weren't following Him because they wanted more of Him....they were following Him because they wanted more bread, free food.
But then Jesus flipped the script. He said, “I am the Bread of Life… unless you eat My flesh and drink My blood, you have no life in you.”
They didn't murmur because they didn’t hear Him. They murmured because they DID hear Him.......and they didn't like what He had to say.
Murmuring is the sound offense makes when pride doesn’t like the way God moves.
It’s the whisper of a heart that wants comfort more than correction. It's the heart that wants familiarity more than it wants freedom.
Sometimes....people murmur about the very ones who dare to do what THEY are too afraid to. They criticize the bold because conviction makes them uncomfortable.
They talk about the brave but don't realize that it exposes their own unwillingness to step out.
Please, don’t let murmuring rob you of what God is doing in this season.
Don't let a complaining spirit cancel your calling and don't let offense harden your heart when God is trying to heal it.
What if....WHAT IF.....you turned the murmuring and complaining into praise?
WHAT IF you gave God thanks before you saw the answer…before you understood the "why"...and before it even made sense?
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke… among whom ye shine as lights in the world. - Philippians 2:14–15
Praise confuses the enemy! We say that over and over again because it is SO important to get ahold of. Praise shifts the atmosphere and unlocks the impossible!
So today, I challenge you! Let go of the murmuring and complaining. Lay down the offense and lift up a sound of praise!
Because where murmuring ends.....miracles begin!
