The Snare Is Broken
Our soul is escaped as a bird out of
the snare of the fowlers:
the snare is broken,
and we are escaped.
- Psalm 124:7
Have you ever felt like life was closing in on you...like you were stuck in something you couldn’t get out of? Maybe it was anxiety, a toxic relationship, financial stress, or even that deep grief you keep trying to carry while smiling through the day.
If so, this post is for you. Actually, even if you’re on the other side of it now, I bet you’ll feel this too. David writes “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers…”
Can’t you just see it? Okay, I know this might sound like the intro to The Twilight Zone, but just stay with me… "picture this if you could.......".
**insert cheesy grin here...or even a nerdy one would work! ...and YES, this is intentional:) **
A tiny bird fluttering in a panic, caught in a trap it didn’t see coming. It was just going about life when....snap!....it’s stuck.
No way out.
Wings pinned.
Heart racing.
Feeling hopeless.
But then… freedom.
“The snare is broken, and we are escaped.”
Let that sink in. Not only did the bird escape, but the trap itself was broken. That thing that was meant to hold it, crush it and destroy it.....has no more power!
I don't think we realize just how many traps we walk into.
Some traps are so sneaky too; they're easy to miss until you find yourself already entangled in them.
Lies about our identity, addictions, unhealed wounds, comfort zones that have become cages, performance-driven faith, or even just exhaustion from trying to hold it all together.
I want to share some GREAT news though.....
God is a snare-breaker!
He doesn’t just pull you out...
He shatters the thing
that tried to keep you bound!
SHATTERS IT!
Maybe you've found yourself in the snare and discouragement has you blinded, so as you're reading this, you're thinking, “That’s great for someone else, but I’m still trapped and nothing is changing”… listen to me. You will not stay there forever!
God sees the snare, He hears the cry of your soul, and He’s already working on your release. Sometimes the escape is instant. Sometimes it’s step by step because He's teaching you things along the way so you don't end up there again. But He will not leave you stuck. Your freedom may not look the way you imagined, but it will come.
Because the trap isn’t stronger
than the One who sees you in it!
